This year's Overload NZ Comic and Manga convention is just a couple of months away (22nd September) and there's still a few tables left. I booked a table for last year's event and had some fun showing off my games and selling compilation CDs of my work, and I'm tempted to do it again this year, but I'd rather not go it alone.
Anyone interested in sharing a table with me? (Cost of half a table is $20) If there's more than a couple interested we could book a few tables and promote Playmaker / the Game Developer's meetup or something along those lines.
This sounds interesting. What exactly happens at Overload? And where is it? If it's in Auckland I'd be interested in sharing a table with you.
Some info on what Overload is: http://overload.co.nz/about/overload/
It's on the 22nd September, at the Pullman Hotel, near the CBD. Actually it's just over the road from the Graphic Novel Cafe, and they run the event.
Are you in? I'm taking my laptop and two XBox 360 controllers to demo stuff at the table, and you're welcome to use it to demo your games.
Yeah, why not.
Cool, I'll book us a table in the next couple of days.
I might be able to book a neighbouring table or two - is there anyone else interested in doing Overload this year?
Cool. Sounds fun.
Hmmm... I sense a 'Make a game during overload' jam
We could certainly do with more Jams
That's kind of an interesting idea actually. A lot of artwork is created on the fly during the event (Artists sketching up their next project, doing commissions etc) so it'd be cool to see a game developed over the day. Plus if we can convince the other attendees to contribute, we'd have artwork on tap.
James, I'm going to be at GNC around 1pm tomorrow to book the table. Did you want to catch up there to discuss what we're doing? I'll also need these details from you for the form - Age, Email Address, Website and Artist Handle - you can email those to me if you like, earok3d at gmail dot com
