TrapIt is a game that melds simple iOS pick-up-and-play mechanics with pure old-school arcade intensity.

In TrapIt your goal is simple; isolate all the moving prisms from each other before your time runs out in order to advance to the next level. By splitting unfilled areas in two with a swipe, you can separate prisms from each other or fill in areas of the level. However, if you progress too slowly then new prisms will spawn. The more area you have filled by the time you complete the level, the more points you get.

That's the core mechanic, but how you play is up to you. Should you finish the level easily with a low end-of-level bonus, or try and fill more area for more points - taking the risk of losing a life? Should you try a difficult split to get that powerup you see lying there or play it safe? Colour bonuses also provide extra challenge - isolate 2 or more prisms of the same colour into the same area for valuable extra bonus points.

A core part of TrapIts gameplay is that it never lets you rest and is always pushing you to the point of panic. There is no stopping between levels waiting for the user to hit the “next level” button. When one level finishes you’re shown your bonus for a few seconds and then the next level starts - with more prisms. As you’re playing you’re reminded that your time is running out, or that you’re close to beating your current highest score; all adding to the sense of urgency - and ultimately mistakes - if you can’t stay calm.

If you're familiar with old games like Qix or Jezzball, you'll understand the concept right away and we're also finding that it's quite popular with casual gamers because it’s very approachable.

Add in the OpenFeint online system that tracks your results against all the other online players and provides a number of achievements and TrapIt has hours and hours of fun in a small, extremely well priced package.
